Children and Youth (5-17 years)

Recreational screen time can take away from time spent being physically active.  The Sedentary Behavior Guidelines recommend children and youth limit their recreational time watching TV, playing video games and being on the computer to no more than 2 hours per day. 

Children spend 63% of their time after school and on week-ends being inactive.  Help children swap sedentary time with active time! 

Walking to and from school, playing outdoors with friends and belonging to a sports team can help build physical activity into your child's day.  It will help to reduce the amount of time they spend being sedentary and they will gain the health benefits of being physically active.
